Project Leighton House Museum.
Helical Staircase precast GRG
Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.
Across three floors, this Helical Staircase formed a central feature of the NewWing of the Leighton House Museum in London Holland Park.
Working again with Purcell Architects, DPA produced workshop drawings and produced the mould from which 18 no precast Helical GRG Panels were produced and fixed to the underside of the metalwork.
Due to the various interfaces with both steelwork and glazing, the casts were manufactured to the tightest of tolerances, to bring this amazing feature to life. In addition, the outer lining of the curved wall, was also produced by DPA in GRG panels.
